Will the policy of U.S. Birthright citizenship be ended according to the speech by Trump?

Donald Trump, the president of U.S., said he plans to sign the executive order to end "birthright citizenship". He claimed that "birthright citizenship" costs billions of USD and is unfair to U.S. citizens.


Many legal analysts believe that the executive order is not capable to end the "birthright citizenship" in a short period of time. The case is clear that it would take a very, very lengthy constitutional process to end the "birthright citizenship". Also, the White House did not respond to the requests for clarification immediately.




According to The 14th Amendment (Amendment XIV) to the United States Constitution, "All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside".  Many people believes that diversity makes America great and U.S. is a nation of immigrants. The "bithright citizenship" concept was upheld in 2898 by U.S. Supreme Court when the court affirmed the citizenship of a person whose parents were Chinese nationals.
